Pick a pumpkin at Kibworth's Windmill Farm Park on October weekends and daily 17 to 31 Oct, then Rockingham Castle's Halloween, 28 to 31 Oct, from £13 a child.

Halloween in and around Market Harborough this year is mostly out of town and mostly after half term. Leicestershire’s schools are off from 19 to 23 October, but Halloween falls on a Saturday a week later, so the two biggest local events straddle both weeks: the pumpkin patch at Windmill Farm Park in Kibworth Harcourt runs through October, and Rockingham Castle’s Halloween is Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 October.

Every event below was checked on the organiser’s own page on 3 October 2026.

The quick answer

  • Pumpkin picking: Windmill Farm Park, Kibworth Harcourt (LE8 0PR). Weekends from 3 October and every day from 17 to 31 October, 10am to 6pm. Each paying child chooses a pumpkin from the patch.
  • Rockingham Castle Halloween: Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 October, 11am to 4pm. Adults £19.25, children aged 4 to 15 £13, family £49.90.
  • On Halloween itself in town: a costume piano concert for under-sevens at the Methodist Church on Northampton Road, 10.30am, £10 for an adult and child.
  • Not confirmed: Farndon Fields, which has run a pick-your-own pumpkin festival in past years, has published nothing for 2026.

Windmill Farm Park, Kibworth: the pumpkin patch

Windmill Farm Park on Langton Road, Kibworth Harcourt, runs its Halloween Spooktacular and Pumpkin Patch on October weekends and then every day from Saturday 17 to Saturday 31 October. Its calendar gives 10am to 6pm on each event day, and the first weekend is 3 and 4 October.

  • The pumpkin: children choose their own from the farm’s homegrown patch, reached by hayride, and there is a carving station back at the farm.
  • Included for each paying child: a witch’s hat, a “magic scroll” and “boo bucks” to spend on the day.
  • Also included: a potion-making workshop, spooky crafts, a witch’s hat parade, a cobweb maze, the Wicked Woods, two trails with a prize at the end, costumed characters, a best-dressed costume contest and fall festival games, plus the farm’s usual animals and play areas.

The farm says tickets are on sale now, that its prices are the same as 2025, and that “key dates always sell out early”. It does not print the prices on the event page; they are shown when you book. On the farm’s ordinary October days that are not event days (Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays early in the month), it opens 10am to 4pm. (Windmill Farm Park event page and calendar)

Rockingham Castle: Halloween Fun, 28 to 31 October

Rockingham Castle, on the Leicestershire border north east of Market Harborough, runs Halloween Fun from Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 October. That is the week after Leicestershire’s half term, so for most Harborough families it means the Saturday, Halloween itself.

  • Times: grounds open at 11am and the castle at 11.30am. Last entry is 3pm, the castle closes at 3.30pm and the site at 4pm.
  • What happens: a carved pumpkin trail through the decorated castle rooms with a “creepy crossword” to solve, a letter trail and games in the gardens, and a pumpkin-rolling challenge to “hit the witch” for a prize. Every child gets a goody bag.
  • Fancy dress is encouraged, and the Walker’s House Tea Room runs a Halloween menu. The tea room does not take reservations.
  • Lighting: the castle warns that some rooms have low, coloured or changing lighting, and asks visitors with concerns to get in touch first.

Kelmarsh Hall: witches, wizards and a lantern trail

Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens, over the county border in Northamptonshire, has two dates that fit around Halloween.

  • Enchanted Kelmarsh, Tuesday 27 October, 9.30am to 12.30pm. A wizards and witches morning of trails and activities in the gardens and grounds, with children invited to come in costume. Child tickets are £20 and adults go free. The hall says more details are still to come. (Kelmarsh Hall, Enchanted Kelmarsh)
  • Forest of Secrets, from Saturday 31 October. Kelmarsh’s new lantern-lit light trail through its woodland. Its own booking page is live, but it only shows the booking calendar. The details below come from the hall’s announcement as published by the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum on 5 August 2026: it runs 31 October 2026 to 2 January 2027, with entry slots from 4pm to 9pm, takes about 45 minutes, and the ticket price includes parking. In town on Halloween itself

BabyGigs Family Concert: Halloween Piano Party, Saturday 31 October, 10.30am to 11.15am, Methodist Church, Northampton Road, LE16 9HE. A live piano concert for children aged 0 to 7 and their families, with costumes encouraged. Tickets are £10 for an adult and child pair, £6 for each extra adult and £4.50 for each extra child. (BabyGigs on Ticket Tailor)

The same morning, the monthly Artisan Fair is on The Square from 9am to 4pm (Harborough Market). In the evening Harborough Theatre is showing the Royal Ballet’s Manon at 7pm, which is not a Halloween event. Our what’s on this month page has the rest of the weekend.

What we could not confirm

  • Farndon Fields Farm Shop, Farndon Road, Market Harborough, has run a pick-your-own pumpkin festival in earlier years; its own blog has posts on it from 2021, 2022 and 2023. Its website has nothing on a 2026 event as of 3 October, so we are not listing it. We will add it if the farm announces dates.
  • Harborough District Council and Lutterworth Town Council list no Halloween events in their October calendars.
  • Wistow Maze near Great Glen: its website refused our connection, so we could not check whether it has anything planned.

Getting there and half term

These are mostly out-of-town venues, so check each organiser’s page for its own parking before you set off. For town centre trips, council car parks charge from 7am to 6pm Monday to Saturday; full tariffs are on our parking in Market Harborough page, and any road closures are on roadworks and travel.

Half term itself, 19 to 23 October, has its own page: October half term in Market Harborough. Bonfire night is on Wednesday 4 November at Harborough Showground; see our fireworks page for times and tickets.
