We checked 12 Market Harborough shops, from Quinns Bookshop to Duncan Murray Wines and the indoor market, for opening hours and addresses. Updated November 2026.
Market Harborough has 12 shops worth a Christmas shopping trip in 2026, and this guide puts them in one place with opening hours, addresses and what each one sells. Quinns Bookshop, Jacks for Women, Duncan Murray Wines and Harborough Market are the long-standing names most people land on. We checked every entry on 5 November 2026 against the shop’s own site, and say where we could not.
We have not shopped at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry says what the shop says it sells. Where hours come from somewhere other than the shop’s own site, the entry says so. Shops often change their hours close to Christmas, so check before a special trip.
Dates for the Christmas shopping diary
Saturday 21 November: Christmas lights switch-on. The district council lists it on Visit Harborough from 6pm to 9pm on The Square, with the countdown at 7pm. Our switch-on page has the rest.
Friday 27 November: Late Night Shopping. The council’s listing gives 6pm to 8pm, and the organisers say parking is free in all car parks and the roads stay open. Their map of the shops taking part is on Instagram. Details are on our late night shopping page.
Saturday 28 November and Saturday 12 December: Artisan Fair on The Square. Harborough Market lists both from 9am to 4pm, for the arts, crafts and food of local traders.
Thursday 3 December: Farmer’s Market on The Square. 9am to 3pm, with the market describing “cheeses, meats and pies, to vegan, flowers and cakes”.
Friday 4 December: Christmas Fayre. Stalls, live music, Santa’s grotto and a funfair, from 4.30pm. See our Christmas Fayre page.
Parking
Harborough District Council’s own car parks charge from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, so an evening visit after 6pm costs nothing on any weekday. The Commons car park (LE16 9DB) is the biggest short stay car park near the shops. Every car park, with tariffs, is on our parking in Market Harborough page.

Who we left out
Head Candy, Church Street, is still on map listings, but its web address is for sale. The Kitchen Range cookshop and Polkadot on Church Street have no site of their own that we could find, and Bagel&Griff’s website does not give a shop address, so we could not check them. Harborough Antiques Centre off St Mary’s Road has no current timetable we could find. None of this means a shop has closed. If you run one of them, email us and we will add you.
We found no current website for shops in Lutterworth, Kibworth or Broughton Astley that we could check on 5 November, so this guide covers Market Harborough only for now.
How we chose
We started with OpenStreetMap’s list of shops in the town centre and the district council’s Visit Harborough pages, then opened each shop’s own site for what it sells, how long it has traded and its hours. We kept independents with a gift or Christmas angle, added the indoor market and a farm shop for the Christmas table, and Joules as the one chain with Sunday hours. We have not visited any of these shops for this guide.
For more on Market Harborough this season, see things to do in Market Harborough, what’s on this month, Santa’s grottos, Christmas dinner in Market Harborough and the Kelmarsh Hall Christmas Fair, or browse our local directory.
