For Christmas Day in Market Harborough itself, the Three Swans on the High Street is the one most people land on: £115 for five courses, or £85 for its family lunch with a visit from Santa. Close by, the Coach and Horses in Lubenham and the Old Royal Oak at Bitteswell both charge £95, and the Yews at Great Glen £86. Every entry was checked against the venue’s own site on 2 November 2026.
We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the price on the venue’s own Christmas Day menu, what the menu includes, and what the venue says about deposits and paying, plus the Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating. Christmas Day food is scarcer here than you might think. Several well-known village pubs are closed that day or publish nothing, and they are listed at the end. Christmas Day in Market Harborough and Lubenham
1. The Three Swans, High Street
The Three Swans is the hotel at 21 High Street, run by the Coaching Inn Group, and its Christmas page offers two different Christmas Day lunches. The gourmet lunch is five courses at £115 a head, served from noon to 4pm.
The menu starts with roasted celeriac and apple soup or smoked salmon tartare and moves on to roast turkey with chestnut and cranberry stuffing or roast sirloin of beef. The family lunch is three courses at £85 for adults and £42.50 for children, with a visit from Santa.
Guests arrive at 12.30pm and lunch is served at 1pm.
The hotel’s 2026 Christmas brochure sets the strictest deadline on this list. You pay a £10 a head booking fee, which is non-refundable, when you book.
Full payment, final numbers and menu choices are due by 20 November 2026, and after that the hotel allows no refunds or changes. The brochure says anyone aged 12 or over pays the adult price.

In December the hotel also runs a festive menu at £34 for two courses or £40 for three, and on Boxing Day a bottomless brunch.

2. The Coach and Horses, Lubenham
The Coach and Horses is the village pub on Main Street in Lubenham, about two miles west of the town. Its Christmas Day page prices three courses at £95 with a £30 deposit for each adult.
The children’s Christmas Day menu is £25 with a £10 deposit. Mains include beef sirloin, oven-roasted sea bass, a mushroom and goat’s cheese wellington and roast turkey with pigs in blankets.
The pub says the roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables come to the table family-style. Booking is in advance only, and the page says “limited numbers available now”.
The page carries no year, but it was last updated in September 2026.

3. The Yews, Great Glen
The Yews is the Chef and Brewer pub at 29 London Road in Great Glen, on the old A6 halfway between Market Harborough and Leicester. Its Christmas Day page prices three courses at £86 a head.
To book you pay a £10 deposit for each adult and £5 for each child, and pre-orders opened on 21 October. Payment in full is due by 1 December 2026.
Deposits are refunded in full if you cancel before 11 December but kept from that date on. The page gives no separate children’s price.
In December the pub also runs a festive menu and Breakfast with Santa.

4. The Oadby Owl, Glen Road
The Oadby Owl is the Greene King pub at 7 Glen Road, on the A6 at the Great Glen end of Oadby. Its Christmas Day page offers three courses at £60.95.
The kids’ Christmas Day menu it links is £27.95 for three courses. A £10 deposit for each adult and child secures the table.
The page gives two payment dates: payment in full “no later than 1 December” in one place, and menu choices and final payment by 11 December in another. Work to 1 December to be safe.

5. Two Steeples, Wigston
Two Steeples is the Greene King pub at 51 Bell Street in the middle of Wigston. Its Christmas Day page prints three courses at £67.99 for adults and £29.99 for children.
A £10 deposit for each person secures the booking. Full payment and menu choices are due by 11 December 2026, and anyone booking after 18 December should phone the pub to check for late tables.

Lutterworth and the west of the district
6. The Old Royal Oak, Bitteswell
The Old Royal Oak is on Valley Lane in Bitteswell, a mile north of Lutterworth. Its Christmas page headlines “Christmas Day 2026” and prices three courses at £95, with a glass of fizz on arrival, served from midday.
The kids’ Christmas Day menu is £48 for three courses. The pub says the menu includes beef bresaola and slow-roasted shoulder of lamb as well as turkey with all the trimmings.
The page gives no deposit or payment rules for Christmas Day, so ask when you book. From 18 November to 31 December, except Christmas Day, it serves a festive menu at £29.95 for two courses or £33.95 for three.

7. The Wentworth Arms, Elmesthorpe
The Wentworth Arms is the Greene King pub on Station Road in Elmesthorpe, a few miles west of Broughton Astley. Its Christmas Day page offers three courses at £63.
The kids’ Christmas Day menu it links is £29 for three courses. A £10 deposit for each adult and child secures the booking.
As at the Oadby Owl, the page says full payment is due “no later than 1 December 2026” and elsewhere gives 11 December for final payment, so work to the earlier date. The pub is rated by Blaby District Council and holds a 4.

8. Rushton Hall, near Desborough
Rushton Hall is the country house hotel on Desborough Road at Rushton, over the Northamptonshire border. Its Christmas page says Christmas Eve dining is for residents only.
Christmas Day lunch is open to non-residents at £160 a person or £65 for children under 12. The 2026 Christmas Day menu lists Norfolk roast turkey with duck fat roast potatoes, beef fillet, halibut and a mushroom and tofu main, then Christmas pudding with brandy ice cream.
The hotel also opens its Orangery to non-residents for Boxing Day lunch at £70, or £35 for under-12s. The page gives no deposit terms, so ask when you book.
