Good Habits, an indie-folk trio who have played Glastonbury, WOMAD, Green Man and Cambridge Folk Festival, are booked for Naseby Village Hall on Friday 9 October. Doors open at 6:45pm, tickets start at £10 and children get in free.

The gig is put on by Red Pyramid Music, a small non-profit promoter based at the village hall in Northamptonshire. It stages three or four gigs a year.

Who Good Habits are

The band mix vocals, cello, accordion, synths and drums. Red Pyramid Music describes the sound as “energetic, atmospheric and seriously good fun”.

According to the promoter, the trio have had national radio play on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and BBC 5 Live, and their album Quarter-Life reached the UK Top 40 Folk Album Chart. The gig poster carries a line from BBC 6 Music calling them “musicianship at its 21st Century best”, and bills the Naseby date as part of an album release tour.

Why a festival band is playing a village hall

Joe Hyde, who founded Red Pyramid Music, said:

I’m always looking for artists who are a bit different and genuinely brilliant live. Good Habits tick both boxes. They’ve played some fantastic festivals, so we’re really pleased to bring them to Naseby Village Hall.

The promoter says it set out to bring “exceptional live roots and contemporary music to Naseby and the surrounding area”, with gigs that are “deliberately intimate and friendly”, and that it picks artists audiences may not have discovered yet. For people around Market Harborough, that means a chance to hear a band that usually plays much bigger stages in a village hall close to home.
